Which categories are impacted by the change?
This change will impact all local and national vehicle listings within the Car and Trucks vehicle category.
Why is eBay making this change?
Starting April 1, 2012, eBay will eliminate buyer confusion by displaying information from only one vehicle history report—AutoCheck by Experian Automotive.
I already have an AutoCheck subscription—what do I need to do about this change?
If you currently subscribe to AutoCheck, you will need to notify AutoCheck and link your eBay ID to your AutoCheck subscription in order to continue to have vehicle history report content automatically included within your listings. Visit Experian Automotive today to fill out a simple form.

Why is the AutoCheck Score on eBay Motors different from the AutoCheck Score on AutoCheck.com for the same vehicle?
Thanks for your question regarding the AutoCheck Score. You may notice on rare occasions that the AutoCheck Score as it appears on eBay Motors may differ from the AutoCheck Score as it appears on AutoCheck.com. Why is that?

Some sellers choose to provide AutoCheck vehicle history reports on eBay Motors as a courtesy to you. The AutoCheck vehicle history report is posted the day the vehicle is listed and the listing lasts on eBay Motors an average of seven to ten days. During that time, if the vehicle is still in operation, its history may continue to change. The most current history on the vehicle can always be accessed directly at AutoCheck.com, and once the vehicle listing on eBay Motors is renewed, the AutoCheck Score will be renewed as well.

For the most up-to-date AutoCheck Score, you may purchase an AutoCheck report from our consumer site at AutoCheck.com or ask the seller to run a fresh report for you.
What is the cost for an AutoCheck subscription?

Through March 31, 2012, Experian Automotive is offering AutoCheck vehicle history report subscription packages to qualifying eBay Motors sellers; making vehicle history integration quick and easy. With this offer you can save over 30% off standard AutoCheck rates. Of course, AutoCheck subscriptions are always available to you; however, the exclusive eBay-only discounts will only last until March 31, 2012. Contact AutoCheck today for a subscription solution that meets your needs.

Up to 50 $175 $3.50
Up to 100 $275 $2.75
Up to 120 $299 $2.50
Why should I purchase an AutoCheck subscription?
eBay has chosen AutoCheck as the preferred provider for the Vehicle History Report tab because of both positive feedback from buyers and research that shows increased sales for listings that display AutoCheck reports. In addition, AutoCheck is offering qualifying eBay dealers two options—to display reports only on eBay, or to display reports anywhere on the Internet—when you sign up by March 31, 2012.
What is the benefit of having an AutoCheck vehicle history report on my listing?
An AutoCheck report displayed in the Vehicle History Report tab of your listing is a prominent reminder to buyers that a trusted, independent third party has evaluated the vehicle. The prospective buyer can easily review the ownership history of the vehicle they are considering. A 2010 eBay study of 600,000 used car listings show that purchase rates were always higher for similar vehicles where a full AutoCheck report was available and run by the consumer. The overall purchase rate for vehicles listings that included an AutoCheck report was 70 percent. Screenshot 1 Screenshot 2
What if I don't want to display a Vehicle History Report on my listings?
Although eBay highly recommends that sellers include a vehicle history report on all listings (when available), the choice is yours as of April 1, 2012. eBay will continue to automatically display vehicle history reports for sellers that list less than 7 vehicles per year. Any high-volume seller that does not subscribe to AutoCheck will not have vehicle history report information displayed in the History Report tab.
I use a different history report provider—can I still display these reports on my eBay Vehicles listings?
If you use another vehicle history report provider, you may include this information within the listing description.
What if I decide that I want to subscribe to AutoCheck after April 1?
You can always subscribe to AutoCheck in order to receive Vehicle History Reports on your eBay and other Internet listings. However, the exclusive eBay-only discounts will only be available if you subscribe by March 31, 2012.
I use a third-party seller tool. Will this impact me?
This change does not affect the way you list, only the way the vehicle history reports are displayed. If you currently subscribe to AutoCheck, you will need to notify AutoCheck and link your eBay ID to your AutoCheck subscription in order to continue to have vehicle history report content automatically included within your listings.
I don't list more than 6 vehicles per year, how will this affect me?
eBay will continue to automatically display vehicle history reports for low-volume sellers—those that list less than 7 vehicles per calendar year.
Who should we contact if we have concerns with what is displayed on the Vehicle History Report?
If you feel that the information on your vehicle history report is inaccurate or misleading please reach out to Experian Automotive.
If I subscribe to AutoCheck, will Vehicle History Reports appear for the duration of my listings, and how long will they be valid?
Yes. If you are an AutoCheck subscriber, vehicle history reports will appear for the duration of your listings and will be valid for free relistings for 90 days after the first listing date.
If eBay ends my Vehicle listing early, will this count towards my subscription package?
There will be no vehicle history report refunds for listings that were removed by Trust and Safety. If you feel that your listing was removed in error, please contact Trust and Safety.
I list nationally as well as through the Local Classifieds. If I subscribe to AutoCheck, will Vehicle History Reports appear on both?
Today, eBay automatically displays free vehicle history reports on both local and national vehicle listings. Beginning April 1, high-volume sellers will need to subscribe to AutoCheck in order for these to continue to be automatically displayed. Subscribers will have vehicle history reports displayed in both local and national vehicle listings.
